The return of the Pied Flycatcher

The Pied Flycatchers have arrived on my home turf yesterday (10th April) almost to the day that they return every year however the 'woodcrete' nest-box that they normally use by my house is now occupied by a nuthatch! The male pied was peering in through the entrance hole during the day presumably with the intention of trying to 'oust' the nuthatch out of residence. She has a sharp bill and I wouldn't argue with her if I were him! The pied's are bold birds and ain't scared of nothing so I hope I wont see a 'battle royal' taking place. I love both these species and I wouldn't want to see either of them end up the loser. I have put up a superb newly 'refurbished' cedar nest-box up on a nearby tree a couple of weeks ago so I hope the pied will go for that.
