This Redpoll is a new visitor to the garden. Selfishly, I was wishing it would perch on something more photogenic, but can't have it all! Also spotted a Red Kite flying low over the fields just North of Montgomery.

What a lovely bird, I am quite envious.
ReplyDeleteCrackers aren't they? 'Mine also perch in the Rowan under which the feeders hang - if you can't do that build an artificial perch with a couple of old branches and you may get lucky! Hide number 3 now with me - tho not gone for the chair hide this time so lets see if this is more successful
ReplyDeleteThey are fantastic birds! There are a few perches dotted around the feeder and the other garden visitors quite happily use them, and its just a matter of time before the Redpoll goes on one of them. Hopefully third time lucky with the hide! How was Carlisle, any luck with the Smew?
ReplyDeleteNice shots Edward
ReplyDelete3rd hide is going straight back - it's useless and I am wholly unimpressed with Stealth Gear. Basic design flaws and manufacturing defects I'm afraid. Will get a replacement 2 man chair hide and see how long this one lasts - it will be the last from them and next time I'll do what I should have done previously and get something a bit more robust!
