Black-Headed Gulls at L. CyD.
One bird with a broken wing on the Oak Tree Island, and another 8-10 drifting around this afternoon - same as yesterday. Less than a week ago there were 5-600, before the water rose and flooded early nesters, though geese were above the water line. Two years ago, after a May flood the birds nested again. What will happen this year? BHGs can suddenly desert a long-established site - are we going to see this happen? (I have to say it was much quieter and I heard the Kingfisher before I saw it!).
