Basic design flaws and manufacturing defects I'm afraid. Will get a replacement 2 man chair hide and see how long this one lasts - it will be the last from them and next time I'll do what I should have done previously and get something a bit more robust! There are a few perches dotted around the feeder and the other garden visitors quite happily use them, and its just a matter of time before the Redpoll goes on one of them.
