Brambling Surprise
Arrived home just back of half 3 today after a couple of nights in Cornwall - after unpacking and all that stuff, and an astonishingly heavy 10 minute hailstorm, looked out of the front window at the feeders and surprised to see a couple of Brambling, never had them here this late before. Grabbed a quick iso3200 record shot through the gloom from the front door of one of the rather bedraggled birds. Typical tho, now have filled the feeders and the sun is out .... they've disappeared!
I had one in the garden at Llanmerewig this afternoon also.
ReplyDeleteYes, they are still about. I've been ringing 2-3/day over the last week, and caught a control, ringed here in early December. Now, where has that been since then?
ReplyDeleteYeah but you are 'Brambling-central' Chris!!! Until this past 6 weeks a rare and occasional visitor in Sarn tho I guess the snow up on the Ridgeway yesterday may have had something to do with yesterday's show.
ReplyDeleteWot fun! Ours have gone.
