Sand Martins at Pwll Penarth

A dozen or so sand martins were  active over the pools at Pwll Penarth today - the first I've seen this year. Felt rather sorry for them as it was pretty chilly and there were several sleety showers during the morning, - but the sun came out this afternoon, so hope the insects did too.

  1. And 4 Sand Martins at Llyn Coed-y-Dinas in the sleet at lunchtime. Chiffchaff still singing though!

  3. Yes, chiffchaff and blackcap singing at Pwll Penarth as well. Interestingly, there were 30-40 fieldfares on the Wern yesterday, and we wondered if this year we would see them overlap with the hirundines for the first time we can remember... but we haven't seen any fieldfares today!
