Dolydd Hafren 09/01

The river was very high with the field in front of the second hide starting to flood, causing the birds to come a little closer. Saw 12 Curlew, 13 Little Egret, 1 Great Egret, 2 Goosander, 2 Lapwing, 1 Oystercatcher, 1 Barn Owl, 2 Cormorants, 1 Red Kite, 2 Little Grebe, and ~100 Lesser Black Backed Gull. At least 200 Canada Geese with a few Greylags in the mix. Wigeon and Teal were plentiful but I couldn't count how many there were as they kept hiding amongst the vegetation.

  1. Lovely Curlew in flight! On the Canadas photo, I wonder if the central bird could be a Greater Black Back? Might be perspective, but looks larger and darker than some of the LBBS?
