Saving Lapwing chicks from the plough
Today I helped Katie and James locate and move Lapwing chicks near Forden before their fields are ploughed. Here is one moved to safety. There are at least three more to relocate and move on Wednesday. Each time a Red Kite or Buzzard or Carrion Crow flies over, several adults fly up together to see off the potential predator.

3 more slightly younger chicks moved this morning, none of them ringed (unlike the one in the photo). 17 were ringed on 28 May.
