Dyfi Osprey Project - Moth Evening

A quick update - both ospreys are doing well and, thankfully, have been on the nest fairly regularly during the last few weeks, we've got some stunning footage including a spotted flycatcher that alighted the nest briefly!. No sign of the (Darvic) ringed bird since the initial sighting.
Why the moth photo I hear you ask? Well, tonight we're having our annual moth event with the effervescent and convivial county moth recorder, Peter Williams. We got 160 species last year, many of them large colourful macros. We are targeting the rare Rosy Marsh Moth that thrives on Bog Myrtle and we have plenty of that! We start at 9.30pm at Montgomeryshire Wildlife Trust's Cors Dyfi reserve and admission is free. Just bring yourself and a camera..

  1. Although it was wet I enjoyed the evening immensely. Peter was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. A great guy. It was lovely to see some kids there too enjoying themselves studying the usually somewhat neglected members of our County fauna.
The Elephant Hawk Moth was awesome!
