A quick update - both ospreys are doing well and, thankfully, have been on the nest fairly regularly during the last few weeks, we've got some stunning footage including a spotted flycatcher that alighted the nest briefly!. No sign of the (Darvic) ringed bird since the initial sighting. 
Although it was wet I enjoyed the evening immensely. Peter was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. A great guy. It was lovely to see some kids there too enjoying themselves studying the usually somewhat neglected members of our County fauna.
