Waxwings at Deep Cutting

Thrilled this morning to see 3 waxwings in our garden - 2 briefly high in a silver birch, flying off almost immediately towards Arddleen, but super views of the 3rd feeding on guelder rose berries. Of course, by the time I'd been indoors to tell Steve and to fetch my camera, it had vanished - but we're hopeful that now the birds have 'clocked' the guelder rose they may be back, especially as the cold weather seems to be here for a while.

    fantastic news - hopefully the reported (but not seen by me!) swarm in Oswestry will be working its way down, gently nudged by the northerlies later in the week! Take the bins out every morning with the dogs (they think I'm bonkers) but as yet nothing seen feeding round Crew Green - i live in hope!
