The Bittern showed well this morning for about half an hour, approx 11am, at the pond to the rear of the second hide and on the bank.It looked healthy although a few spratts were thrown into the field in case it helped. Also seen were approx 42 Curlew,4 Greensandpiper,2 Greylag,Canada Geese,Wigeon,Teal,1 Kestrel,Heron,2 Little Grebe, Siskin,Shelduck,Lapwing and Reed Bunting.
A rather flooded Coed-y-dinas produced 1 Male Goosander,Teal,1 Cormorant,Tufted, Canada, and Moorhen all at the rear of lake or on big island.
no show for the bittern for the rest of the day - so need get back there at first light tomorrow I think! Great pic and the kestrel has turned out well given the distance - after you left had M & F Sparrowhawk and peregrine with a couple of jays thrown in for good measure! The bittern quest continues ........
