Oh for the love of wildlife. Looking through the french window this morning at a miserable downpour, I have been cheered up by our local birds.A male blackbird rooting in the plantpots, a female of the species pecking at a fat block. Pair of goldfinch on me feeders, male house sparrow together with Eric the phesant on a deck seed block. A dunnock feeding with caution on the deck as he is chased off at regular intervals by our vicious robin. Blue tits on the nuts.
Mark, my homemade fat blocks are at this time a disaster, but will see what any future cold weather may bring And still the rainlashes down, with the Rhiew only 300 meters away, mmm!!.

Still pictures to be taken! This weather is pretty grim - can't remember such a prolonged period when the light has been so dire and now of course with the ground being so saturated any rain becomes 'overland flow' and hits the streams and rivers. Hope the Rhiew behaves itself!
ReplyDeleteJust after I posted 3 "Tree Sparrow" hurriedly descended on my large seed block, had a quick feed and away in a blink, I do not often see them so close.
