LCyd
Plenty of Black Headed Gulls around, although there numbers were far less on Sunday. Other species on the lake included Teal, Goosander, single Great Crested Grebe, Oystercatcher, Shelduck, Tufted duck, Cormorant, Snipe, Lapwing, Greylag, Canada, and Coot. A Goldcrest and Chiffchaff made several appearances in the trees adjacent to the side; sadly no pictures of the former. Highlight was the Water Rail preening to the right of the hide (tricky getting a shot through the vegetation!).

Sorry Edward - this post passed me by! A couple of belters in there - did well with the Rail and the reeds having been lopped does help
ReplyDeleteThe Rail was a tricky shot, it was level with the back of the hide, so had to wedge the camera and myself into the corner and shoot backwards, beats a shot taken through the hide glass windows!
