Montgomeryshire Canal/Penarth/Dolydd Hafren

A combined post for the above places.  Penarth was relatively busy, plenty of Reed Bunting, Canada Geese, Black Headed Gull, Grey Wagtail, Teal, and Mallard.  A male Kingfisher was showing very well in the morning, sadly did not go on the near perches, but still fantastic to see.

On the walk back to the car (I like the walk from Abermule to Penarth!), I had a great encounter with a Mink.  It dove into the canal, resurfaced a few seconds later with a fish.

Snipe were showing well at Dolydd Hafren in the evening.  I'm told (apologies I didn't catch your names) an Osprey flew over the reserve around 11am.
