weekend summary

Travelled down from Burnley for the weekend Friday 14/04/13. Visited  Dolyth haffren in afternoon. Birds seen; 2 Swallows, Few sand Martins, Mating pair of Little ringed plovers, one Black Tailed Godwit with 6 curlew, And 2 Jack Snipe.
Early Saturday went to Pwll Penarth first hide Up to 4 kingfishers chasing each other around, and sand Martins investigating  nesting holes in bank. Also on river Grey wagtail,Common Sandpiper, and pair of Gosander.
Of some concern was sighting of ? Yellow Bellied Slider Terrapin hauling out onto bank under nesting holes.
Just returned back home in Burnley.Hope this is of interest to your local birders.

  2. Nice one Meurig - good to know the Terrapin survived. Was first seen (presumably someone dumped it) in August or so last year
