Grebes on Testosterone.


With water levels dropping at L. Cyd the two pairs of GCGrebes both had their sights set on the reedbed in front of the hide. Each pair was displaying peacefully until the 2 males became aggressively confrontational, and the fight above ensued with one male attacking and submerging the other for at least 30 seconds. no lasting harm done!
The best news, however is that somehow the Oystercatchers have 3 live young on the island, despite the flood in mid-week.

    Great news about the oystercatchers, and that there are 2 pairs of grebes.
