Once Bittern twice shy...

Here's the trailcam image of the Bittern at MWT Cors Dyfi taken on 30th Jan. Bittern was also recorded on the reserve, again by trailcam on 5th Dec.

The Cors Dyfi bird has not been seen since the 30th and it's therefore not impossible the LCYD bird is the same individual - although my best guess would be that 2 different birds are involved.

    Yes, but in a good year it's probably only 1 or 2 individuals as we don't really have the right habitat. In cold winters we probably have none overwintering in Montgomeryshire as they will move south and east.

    I photographed one at Dolydd hafren when we had them cold winters -18 it was only seen for a few days mind
