    Montgomeryshire is one of 13 historic Welsh counties. It covers the northern part of the modern Powys. For Biological recording purposes Britain is subdivided into fixed boundary 'Vice Counties''. Montgomeryshire = Vice County 47.

    The website (http://www.cucaera.co.uk/grid-ref-to-vice-county/) also provides an option to convert an OS grid reference to Vice County so that you can determine whether a location is within Montgomeryshire or not.
