Today, 12th, a Common Sandpiper found and ate an earthworm just before it was sent packing by one of the two remaining Snipe. A Green Sandpiper was present for a few minutes on the 10th, and the Great Crested Grebes were trying to make little grebes (not Dabchicks!) Early morning drizzle on the 11th held up the migration of 150 Sand Martins and about 20 Swallows, and a male Shoveler was still present. The GC Grebes had increased to 2 pairs on the 12th. Oh, and after an absence of 6 or 7 seven days the Black Headed Gulls again number about 400+. Blackcap, Willow Warbler and Chiffchaff present between the car park and hide.
