Lovely views of a singing willow warbler this morning, in the bushes alongside the canal. Also, a wheatear perched on top of a muck-heap (I've never seen one on the Wern before, and assume it's passing through) It then further surprised me by flying into the top of a nearby oak tree! A pair of nest-building buzzards too, and the air full of chiffchaff song.
On Tuesday I saw my first 2 swallows near Burgedin Lock - but no sign of them since.
Update 1 pm - Our friend, Tom, has just seen two willow warblers and two blackcaps along the same stretch of canal.
