cuckoo
1 seen up Rodneys pillar this morning , also wood warbler , 3 pied flycatchers , 4 redstarts , grasshopper warbler , 2 pairs of willow tits ,3 crossbill, unusually only 2 great spotted wodpeckers and no green or lesser spotted , after having all 3 species 11 days ago and there being 20 + great spotted then

was up on the 7th where did you see the wood warbler? also gropper?
ReplyDeletewood warbler on the left in the oak trees after the hairpin bend , my son Andrew had it on the 2nd in the same place , the gropper was a bit further on where the clearfell is on the left side of track in the fern

DeleteGreat stuff John and Andrew. The Breidden Hills are a wonderful area, and under-recorded.
ReplyDeleteVery under-recorded. Birding can be very slow here and lots of patience needed at times. Early morning generally best before the masses arrive (especially with Rodney's pillar) :)
