Male grasshopper warbler singing again on Wern this morning - Steve first heard it on Monday, but it was too far away ( too much background early morning birdsong as well) for my ears! Close enough today to capture the song on video, although the bird flitting about so quickly in the hedge that it doesn't really show itself. So a record by sound not sight. It looks good breeding habitat - wet, rushy, tussocky field surrounded by sparse hedgerow, so hope there's a mate around somewhere.
Yellowhammers still about, although not singing very much, and this week a pair of linnets is showing daily.
