Yellowhammers, redstarts and a hobby




Male yellowhammers are still singing on the Wern, but we've seen no confirmation of breeding.
Young redstarts are also around - we don't see them every year, so it's good to have them back again.



The highlight of this morning's Wern walk was a hobby, which set the swallows all of a twitter and then took one, flying off out of sight before I could even think of photographing it! - it's the first we've seen locally this year.
