DIPPER
Dipper seen on river Rhiw at Felindre nr. Berriew on Sat. afternoon 29th Sept. the bird had a silver ring on it,s right leg and a larger yellow ring on it,s left. It spent a long time feeding on a fast and rising river.. Any info on this bird would be of interest to the home owners of the house from where the bird was seen, as they say it is a frequent visitor to that part of the river.

Hi Kevin, the Dipper is almost certainly one that I've ringed on that stretch of river. But as I have ringed many, I can't really give you any info at the moment. The yellow ring will have three digits on it (a letter followed by two numbers). If someone can read them, I will be able to tell you the 'history' of the bird. It's quite likely that there is more than one.
ReplyDeleteThanks Paul, Will pass on info. Next time i visit i,ll make sure i take the scope
