Heard an odd call yesterday at Llyn Coed-y-dinas, and I think it was the little Chiffchaff in my photo, and seems to be of the Siberian race.
Another call this afternoon which I was sure was a Water Rail. Late afternoon produced this Water Rail.
Also seen was a male Blackcap feeding on the apples, a Little Egret, 10 C Snipe, Goldcrest and a female Kingfisher.
25 plus Golden Plover moved through the valley yesterday along the Severn towards Welshpool.

Great record, it looks like a Siberian from the photo, do you have any others of it? A 'description' of the call would help too.
ReplyDeleteThanks Paul. I do have other photo's but I was hoping to keep them for stock. Would a photo of the head be enough?
ReplyDeleteBrian - I agree looks good for Siberian Chiffchaff but confirmation of this species needs to be made by the Welsh Record Panel. If you could email me the best pics you have of the bird then I would be happy to submit the record for you. The pics will not be published if you do not wish them to be. Regards
ReplyDeleteI will send some others Mike, and realise that confirmation is difficult. I would not wish the photos to be published, but may allow one once confirmed.
DeleteFine set.
