High counts of ducks at Llyn Coed-y-Dinas.

Interesting to see that the few days of cold weather have lead to an increase in the Teal and Wigeon numbers to about 300 of each, with about 250 Mallard and 35 Tufted Ducks. There are also 2 Pintail and 2 Shoveler with single Mandarin, Dabchick and Shelduck still present. Peak Canada counts have been 500+ and about 50 Greylag, though at some times of day there are only a handful of Canadas present. Up to 10 Snipe are showing out in the open, and a Water Rail is occasionally seen or heard. 2 Chiffchaff were seen yesterday. The Kingfishers - up to 3- continue to be seen close to the hide.
