Spotted Flycatchers successful

We were delighted when a pair of Spotted Flycatchers built a nest in our wisteria this year, but it was soon predated, being both rather visible and accessible. Their second attempt was in a well-hidden spot near our back door, and it has been great to view their comings and goings from the window as they've reared their brood of four, now on the point of fledging.

    Very good news indeed Sue. I've seen them around here but none nesting nearby. a redstart had a couple of days in and out of one bird box back in May (?) but was disturbed constantly by sparrows which don't nest there but nearby. It's all very quiet at the moment.
