Garden birds today

A few Bramblings in my garden as well as a very showy male Bullfinch, and a Great Spot inspecting the telegraph pole. Add in a Grey Wagtail at the pond, and a neighbour with a Woodcock on the lawn and the effect of the snowfall is obvious. Best of all for me was a single Hawfinch which arrived with a flock of Greenfinches, but sadly did not stay to feed (or pose).

  1. Wouldn't mind a Hawfinch in the garden, excellent. I think I have had your ringed Brambling although the ring was covered in ice! Many years ago we had a Woodcock in the garden and I have a photo somewhere. Bet we miss loads of unusual species. Lovely Bullfinch, send them here for a day.
