Custard Woodpecker

Dennis S has a Great Spotted Woodpecker on his feeder with xanthochroism (a genetic colour mutation - here, the red replaced with yellow). This particular male bird has been around the Four Crosses area since at least December 2017 and has visited a few private gardens.

    Well done Dennis - I'd never seen this until I saw your photos. I wonder if there's a chance it could be passed on to any forthcoming youngsters or not?
