At least 4 redpolls on the niger seed in the garden today - not a bird we see very often here, so a treat. Although the male was particularly striking, the females subtle streaky plumage was attractive in a different way. They were a feisty group, seeing off goldfinches and siskins who were eager to share in the feast. (Photo doesn't do them justice as taken through the window.)

Nice one.
ReplyDeleteThanks Kev - they are still around today, unlike the tree sparrows which were only here for the one day.
