Little Owls
Recently I was privileged to accompany Chris Griffiths and Paul Roughley when they went on their annual round checking known Little Owl sites and nestboxes on their small scheme in the Lower Severn Valley. It was especially exciting to see a brood of 4 chicks in one of the nestboxes, and a parent bird keeping an eye on us from a nearby oak. This was really good news for a species which is apparently declining in the county, but seems to be clinging on in small isolated pockets where habitat is suitable. If other people are also enjoying sightings of Little Owls, or have evidence of them in Mont, it would be good to hear about them.
