Goshawk, Dyfnant Forest

Those of us volunteering with Montgomeryshire Wildlife Trust at the Dyfnant Meadows Reserve enjoyed the sight of a male Goshawk flying over us on Wednesday morning, 15 August. Though not much larger than a female Sparrowhawk, the rounded tail, stouter build and stronger flight were distinctive.
