Firstly an apology to those posting sightings/pics etc - I am unable to post comments on the blog I'm afraid and have no idea why. On the recent post, well done re the Starling roost pics Chris and great to have a Yammer in the garden Sue, very occasionally see them down here in the village but the local population tends to hang around with the Tree Sparrow up on the Ridgeway.
Anyhoo, to the subject of this post. A planning application was made by the Council in late 2017 for the erection of a number of 'affordable' dwellings on the land opposite the school/behind the Village Hall in Sarn. Getting on for a year ago now the hedging along the side of the lane was netted - an obscene practice in my view - and that netting remains in place, or at least the remnants of it do. The hedge was (partially) trimmed in Autumn, damaging the netting and the recent storms have completed the job. The first picture below was taken in March last year shortly after the netting was installed, the remainder were taken yesterday - the net is now starting to disintegrate and sections have detached and lodged in the hedge on the opposite side of the lane. Worth saying that absolutely no development work of any kind has taken place
Yesterday I raised this with the Council on Twitter (if anyone wants to see this and the responses this has generated inc one from Iolo, my Twitter id is @markmwphoto) and emailed my local councillor - as yet no response from either. Will keep you all posted
