My new friend

This Racing Pigeon seems to have taken a fancy to the area around the veg patch - have provided seed and water to give it a boost. All ring details captured and reported - it's from Fleetwood nr Blackpool - be interesting to see if the owner contacts me, they normally don't give a stuff! As ever it's very tame and happy to take seed from the hand, so hopefully disappears before the local cat murderers or Sprawk get wind of it - the '20' on the ring denotes it was bred this year so maybe just a confused youth?

UPDATE 24 AUG - bird continues to hang around although food I left now all gone - time for it to find its own. Owner did contact me - "as you haven't captured it, its likely a waste of 50 quid coming down to try and pick it up" and "we've lost loads these past 3 weeks"

  1. We quite often get racing pigeons in the garden a Mark, as you’ve done we feed them. Trouble is they will stay with you!

  2. It'll get one meal then left to fend for itself! Tho it is fairly close to the feeders in the front garden so that may not be the best plan!
