Redwings

 I have been watching flocks of Redwing for the past 5-6 days, and have noticed a changing pattern in the last 36 hours. At first flocks were intent on passing at height and a good pace between the arc of west and south west, but now I think that that migration has been replaced by the birds moving more randomly, which I interpret as them being more interested in seeking food sources. Any similar observations?

    They're starting to settle on the hawthorns that are fruiting all along the railway.

    Didn’t see any Redwing yesterday on Long Mountain, a few in Powis Park. There are a lot of berries on the trees so it could be a good winter for thrushes.
