Here is a short video of the Starlings descending onto the reed bed in front of the first hide. Just watch how far the reeds get pushed down under the weight of all the birds. I counted 4 different Sparrowhawks constantly hunting the Starlings as they filter into the reed. Also seen were 2 Little Egret and 20 Curlew.

ReplyDeleteWhat a pity Autumnwatch has ended. I believe Iolo would probably have used that. It deserves to go viral! (I believe only 2 Starlings were harmed in the making of this film).

ReplyDeleteThanks for all your kind comments guys. For anyone wondering, the track down to the reserve is still a bit rough, although a lot of of the pot holes have been filled in on that long straight to the car park. 4x4 drivers will be fine, but otherwise, drive down at your own risk!
