Pied Flycatcher and Wheatear

Many thanks to Will Bevan, for spotting and photographing this new arrival at Allt Goch, Llanidloes, this morning. A March arrival for Pied Flycatcher is very unusual: the earliest in the county since 2000 was on 3 April 2014 at Llanerfyl. Indeed only four Welsh counties have recorded one in March since 2000 (statistics from Mike Haigh).

Also thanks to Eryl Selly for reporting a male Wheatear today on Garreg-hir near Carno.
