Did the Breeding Bird Survey at Dyfnant Meadows this morning; the warden and I had a nice time, despite the chilly cloud. Notable was a number of Tree Pipits in full display mode; I don't recall seeing so many there in previous years. We also heard Redstart, Pied Flycatcher, Lesser Redpoll, Siskin, Blackcap. Willow Warbler and Bullfinch, amongst others. Cuckoo would have been great, but no such luck! Not heard one this year yet, but know others who have.
