A single Hawfinch was in the car-park at Llyn Coed-y-Dinas this morning at 0930. It spent several minutes perched in the trees bordering the car-park (above the reserve sign) at mid-height, occasionally moving but not far. A few of us MWT vols saw it before we set off for Pwll Penarth.
PS Also from Adrian Hughes in Castle Caereinion: "yesterday afternoon 33 Lapwing arrived, in company with a
larger flock of Starling, on 'our' big field currently grazed by sheep. The lapwing are back now in greater numbers (Sally counted 69) still with starling. We're thrilled having rarely seen even tiny numbers for several years." Thanks Adrian and Sally.
