In Middletown I have noticed hard-weather movements (west to east) of many Redwing, plus a few Fieldfare and more surprisingly, a group of 10 Skylark.

Thanks to David Lister for this image, taken at Mochdre today. There haven't been many this winter in the county. David had 2 in October, then none till today.

David Lister adds (10 March): "I have about 10 Brambling now and even had 4 in Newtown yesterday." And Paul Irving reports, "the weather has increased our Siskins to well over 100 plus Goldfinches, may be 50+ Chaffinches and 5 ( 2 male, 3 female) Bramblings here at Llandinam. There are suddenly also at least 5 Stonechats and 10 Meadow Pipits locally."
