Newtown Waxwings now in their 45th day
Paul Stratford has sent this lovely Waxwing portrait from Newtown today. The first arrivals there were on 4 Dec, 45 days ago, and there are still 30+! Many thanks Paul - it's one of my favourite Waxwing images of this irruption.
I believe they are usually there at the college Dave, although recent reports say they have been moving up and down along the railway line. Most people seem to be seeing them with a bit of patience. No problems with taking photos, but there's a recent report that the college staff like visitors to sign in.
They’ve always asked this year for people to sign-in. It’s just to know who is on the college grounds incase of a fire etc. They are fine with photographers, but have asked not to take photos with the buildings, people, etc in the background. To sign in, just go to the main desk, and they will help you.
Are they still at the College? If so, can you photograph them within the grounds?
