On Weds July 17th at 9.45 am. ,we were treated to a rare display (for us)-as we parked by the fishing centre the male from the original nest cruised over; I grabbed the camera and did my best despite the distance-hence the poor quality . A fisherman standing in the water just in front of us was treated to the spectacle.
The sequence was quite long: he dived like an arrow ,went under , came back up, was dragged down again struggled back and finally cleared the surface ; went back and fore to gain height as the Rainbow was ENORMOUS and finally headed for home.Phew! We were exhausted and delighted!
Thanks Kev - a great sequence to have observed!
