We were all treated to some stunning views of ospreys today - both our resident female and other bird(s). The biggest news is that the female spent most of the day nest - building, calling and eating on the nest. Is there another osprey in the area she has her eyes on? We still have around three weeks before it's too late so fingers, toes and talons crossed. Also on the reserve today, merlin, goshawk (missing P8 right wing) and the 'grassies' are returning back in numbers. Hoards of swallows too and the odd sand martin.
