Welcome visitor

Good to see a brambling in the garden today - we rarely do! Pity we can't read the ring details though. Hope it may come a little closer another day, for a better photo.

  1. Hi, Sue,
It could be one of mine. I've ringed about 30 in the garden in the last 3 weeks. Interestingly, males are outnumbering females by about 4 to 1.

  2. I wondered whether it might be! It's been back this morning but only briefly, and although I took a couple more photos( through the window/condensation!) I still can't read the ring details. Will keep trying.
Lucky you having so many in your garden - interesting ratio between males and females, as you say.

  3. Well done.BUT, 30 is a bit unfair!!! Send some down-our female is quite lonely.
