Finch day in Sarn

A few from the garden today - huge numbers of finch around (20+ each Goldfinch and Siskin, 9 Redpoll, 4 Greenfinch and a single Bullfinch)

The Bullfinch was a surprise to see when we got back home on Wednesday from Cumbria - they're around the village and we see them a couple of times a year but never on the feeders. But ... not exactly the best looking individual and holds its right wing at an odd angle - quite mobile tho and feeds well so everything crossed.  Been very quiet on the Greenfinch front through the winter but they've started to appear these past 3 weeks and all look to be in great condition

Yesterday at LCyD - 2 x calling Chiffchaff and the female Goldeneye is still there...3 months and counting now!

  1. Really scruffy Bullfinch. Great Greenfinch are appearing, plenty on the feeders and as you say still in nice condition.
