Na-Dolydd Llawen

Popped down to Dolydd Hafren yesterday afternoon to see what was about. Sadly, the majority of the Starlings have moved on, with only 50 or so birds coming into roost at dusk. The river is very high, partially flooding the reserve. I was treated to super views of the 20 Curlew as the waters brought them closer to the hide (just about making out the ring colours on one of the birds - left leg yellow 8T, right leg orange). 15 Widgeon arrived later on and as dusk was falling, 16 Little Egret and 1 Great Egret came into roost. I know its not a picture of a bird, but its worth making an effort to see the great conjunction between Saturn and Jupiter. It has been 400 years since the last one and 800 years since the last time it happened at night!

  1. Clever title Edd - and great picture of Saturn and Jupiter, as well as the birds. Well done!
