Season's Greetings such as they are to one and all - it's been a pretty naff year and suspect will get considerably worse before it gets better but here's looking forward to a time when we can get back out birding, reserves re-open and I get a new knee!!
The pic above was not taken in Monts (obviously!), indeed not even in the UK. It was taken in a small ash crater next to Myvatn in Iceland - 2 RTDs showed beautifully for 2 hours (with a dozen or so Scaup and a pair of Common Scoter for company), this pic taken at around 7am after lying on a bog just above the waterline for 90 minutes with the temperature a degree or so above freezing. Pics like this make the wait worthwhile and (almost) made me forget I'd left my coat in the car! And best of all ... this was taken on 6 June, yes June, 2019
Cracking stuff mate- not sure whether to feel happy for you or sympathise!!! Sadly I tried to put my Xmas card on yesterday and the silly blog has blocked me for some inscrutable reason!
ReplyDeleteKev, I wish I could sort it. Mike Haigh and I keep checking to see if it's been fixed - it's an IT glitch. At present we are unable to invite any new contributors, and sometimes it seems to kick some of the regulars off. Mike has repeatedly reported it to Google, who run Blogger. But no luck yet. I tried inviting you just now, but it makes no connection. We will keep trying.
ReplyDeleteHappy Christmas Mark! Great picture, full of atmosphere and its one of those pictures I can hear just by looking at it, fabulous bird. Here here to getting back out and about again.
