Having not seen a spotted flycatcher this year until a week ago, it's been a great treat to find them nesting in a small recess in a brick outbuilding visible from our spare bedroom window. They must have been around without us realising it, as they are now already feeding young. Our only hope is that they're not discovered by the many magpies which we see in and around the garden.
Thanks Kev, but I think it's actually well done to the Spotted Flycatchers. They are so discreet and careful not to really make their presence known. So far, so good - they're very busy feeding the young.

ReplyDeleteThey are such lovely birds and I miss them in our garden. We did see a pair about three weeks or more ago in woodland nearby so mustn't grumble!
