Lapwings, shelduck and shoveler on flooded field

Extensive patches of floodwater on an organically farmed field alongside the A483, a couple of miles or so N of Pool Quay,  attracted more than 140 lapwings, 10 shelduck (grazing) and at least 8 shoveler, as well as 9 mute swans, and small flocks of starlings this morning. (Best viewed from field gate on Rhydesgn Lane - not very close but easily visible with bins). Unfortunately, no sign of any curlews, but will keep looking.

  2. Good to hear there is at least one curlew around Chris. We have now had just one brambling here, and on one day only! Hope yours are still with you once restrictions are lifted.
