8 Oct, Short-eared Owl: 1 near Llyn Hir (south of Llanerfyl). Thanks Aneurin Lloyd. 

6 Oct, Hawfinch: 5 at Powis Castle, in tree-tops by main car-park. Thanks Tony Ware.

4 Oct, Cattle Egret: c.30 at Dolydd Hafren among cattle. Also there: Kingfisher, Little and Great Egrets and Grey Herons. 

23 Sep, Manx Shearwater: 1st year bird found grounded in Llanfyllin and released at the coast the next day. Thanks to Mike Haigh for this news. 

22 Sep, Golden Plover: 8 on Heldre Hill, Long Mountain, near Welshpool. Thanks to Kevin Gallagher and Ken Clarke for this.
